10 year old Alexander Stotts rode in the Quaker Ridge Mountain Bike Race, Race the Ridge in September of 2018. Alex took first place in the boy’s 9- 10 year category. Quaker Ridge opted to not be a venue to host a mountain bike race event for 2019.

Mountain Top Cycling Club Executive Director, Deborah Maresca explained to Alexanders mother, Carol Stotts, how the Mountain Top Cycling Club has 6 bikes that were donated to the High School Mountain Bike team. Last year Mountain Top Cycling Club purchase a bike new bike that the Woodland Park High School Mountain Bike team, student Nathan Estep will be riding in 2019.

After three years of unsuccessfully trying to find a coach for the Cripple Creek /Victor High School team, Deborah offered a bike to Alexander. “We want to see kids out riding and this was a perfect opportunity to give back to the community” says Maresca.

Mountain Top Cycling Club has reached out to Cripple Creek and Victor School Principle and Staff, Cripple Creek Parks and Rec. and various cyclists in Teller County in hopes of finding a coach to for the Cripple Creek and Victor High School team.
